Custom PHP ini settings

Applications that run on a PHP runtime (Laravel, plain PHP, WordPress, Statamic and Craft CMS) have a "Custom PHP ini settings" field in the PHP runtime settings card on the Settings tab. Anything you enter there is written to a ini file (/usr/local/etc/php/conf.d/zzzz-ploi-cloud-custom.ini) inside your image at build time.

Ini files in that directory are loaded in alphabetical order and later files win, so this file is loaded last: your values override both the image defaults and the settings from the PHP runtime settings card for the same directives. This is also the only way to change directives that are not covered by the PHP runtime settings shown in the panel, such as session.upload_progress.enabled.

How it works

  • Enter one directive per line, in normal php.ini syntax, for example:
session.upload_progress.enabled=0
apc.enable_cli=1
  • The content is written into the image exactly as you entered it, during the build.
  • Changes require a new deployment before they take effect.
  • It applies to every PHP-based application type, including the FrankenPHP variant.

Default value

The field comes pre-filled with:

session.upload_progress.enabled=0

Following the PHP Foundation's security advisory (CVE-2026-115560), session upload progress is disabled by default. If your application relies on session-based upload progress tracking, remove that line or set session.upload_progress.enabled=1. Removing the line entirely reverts to the PHP default.

Use at your own risk

These values are not supported by Ploi Cloud.

  • The content is applied as-is. We do not validate, review or troubleshoot it.
  • Invalid ini values can prevent PHP from starting, which means your application will fail to boot.
  • Wrong values can affect the security, stability or performance of your application.
  • Only php.ini directives are allowed. Do not use extension= lines to load extensions; use the PHP extensions setting instead. Loading an extension that is not installed will break PHP startup.

If your application breaks after changing these values, remove them and deploy again.
