Enabling uptime monitoring
Setting up uptime monitoring for your application takes just a few clicks.
Prerequisites
Before enabling uptime monitoring, ensure your application:
- Has at least one domain configured
- Is deployed and accessible
Enable monitoring
- Navigate to your application in the Ploi Cloud dashboard
- Click on the Monitoring tab
- Click the Enable monitoring button
- Wait a few seconds for the monitor to be created
Once enabled, OhDear will immediately start monitoring your application's primary domain.
What happens when you enable monitoring
When you enable uptime monitoring:
- A new monitor is created in OhDear for your application
- Your primary domain is added as the monitored URL
- HTTP uptime checks begin running every minute
- SSL certificate monitoring is automatically configured
- Performance data collection starts
Viewing monitoring data
After enabling monitoring, you'll see several metrics on the Monitoring tab:
- Current status - Whether your application is up or down
- Uptime percentage - Your application's availability over time
- Response time - How quickly your application responds
- Recent events - Any downtime or recovery events
Disabling monitoring
If you no longer need uptime monitoring:
- Go to your application's Monitoring tab
- Click the Disable monitoring button
- Confirm the action
Note: Disabling monitoring will delete the monitor and all historical data from OhDear. This action cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
Monitor shows as down but my site is working
This can happen if:
- Your application is blocking requests from monitoring services
- There's a firewall rule preventing external access
- The primary domain has DNS issues
Monitoring tab shows an error
If you see an error when loading monitoring data:
- Refresh the page and try again
- Check that your application is still deployed
- Contact support if the issue persists
